Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME) is hiring a Training Manager (TM) to further develop and execute the RME Technical Training program by contributing to the design of the Centers of Excellence (CoE) and associated curriculum and effectively managing the Learning Ambassadorâs (LAâs) workload and responsibilities as well as coordinating scheduling of classes and venues. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and has a proven record of managing projects and people.Currently this role is virtual, but this may change with the needs of the business. As a TM in the RME Learning and Development (L&D) team your responsibilities include: manage and develop a team of highly-skilled technical trainers that operate across the U.S., schedule weekly participants and coordinate training activities, oversee execution of hands-on training and development of standards, assess the skills of trainees and ensure Centers of Excellence (CoE) are drivers of the Amazon Maintenance System (AMS)This is a key role in the L&D team for RME in North America; you will lead the LAâs to assess the skills of technicians and deliver instructor-led training, provide support to the sites leveraging the Subject Matter Expert (SME) network, and identify training needs in the network based on reliability metrics. The TM assists the LAâs in owning the content of Technician Asset Certification (TAC) courses and ensure all training is up-to-date by leveraging feedback from the network and engaging with vendors. The TM actively participate in the documentation, deployment, audit, and improvement of AMS standards.To be successful in this role you need to be capable of leading and developing your team as well as influencing leadership across multiple organizations. You must also be a self-starter, proven leader, diligent project manager, communicator, and problem solver with strong analytical skills. You will directly work with a team of Amazonians based around the country in CoE and with cross-functional teams and vendors on complex problems, deal with ambiguity and advocate on behalf of RME stakeholders.Responsibilities:Â· Manage a team of highly-skilled technical trainers that operate in 3 CoE across the US.Â· Engage with RME stakeholders for all Business Units and Central teams to ensure required training content is in place to support the advancement of RME technical skills.Â· Define annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly training schedules and required attendees and resources.Â· Oversee execution of classroom, virtual, and hands-on training activities.Â· Assess the skills of technicians trained and effectiveness of training methodologies.Â· Assess and develop the skills of LAâs.Â· Ensure CoEâs and all associated trainings are drivers of AMSÂ· Communicate effectively and partner with multiple stakeholders to drive results.Travel requirement for this role is approximately 50% domestically.
Â· Bachelorâs degreeÂ· 3+ years of management experience in Maintenance, Manufacturing, Transportation, or Supply Chain.Â· Experience across the full project lifecycle; from analysis and design to implementation.Â· Experience with complex projects in operations, processes, or performance improvement
Â· Master's Degree.Â· 5+ years of management experience in Maintenance, Manufacturing, Transportation, or Supply Chain.Â· Impactful experience with Senior Operational / Business Leaders as well as on the shop floor.Â· Familiarity with Amazon Operations (CF, ATS, AMZL, GSF).Â· Knowledge of Continuous Improvement mechanism at Amazon.Â· Proven track record of hiring and developing the best.Â· Demonstrated experience and proficiency of problem solving.Â· Ability to operate both at strategic, tactical, and executional level.Â· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
